Catch UMR Solar House live on CNBC this morning and this afternoon

The following note is from Andrew Careaga, Director of Communications of UMR:
The UMR Solar House Team, one of 20 competing in the Solar Decathlon in Washington, D.C., will be featured live this morning on CNBC. The segment airs at 9:40 a.m. Central Time. CNBC is on channel 47 on Fidelity Cable Television.
Also, CNBC is scheduled to return to the UMR Solar House at 1 p.m. Central (2 p.m. Eastern) to broadcast live.
The UMR Solar House Team is one of 20 college and university teams competing in the Solar Decathlon on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The event began earlier this week and concludes on Oct. 20. This weekend, several UMR alumni will gather at the UMR Solar House for an event.

Ameren supports UMR Solar House renewable energy

Ameren supports the renewable energy technology of the 2007 UMR Solar House by donating $22,600 for the solar panels and inverter system. This will allow us to collect the sunlight and change it to usable energy to run our entire house! Thanks Ameren for your support!

UMR’s Solar House Team begins preparing for 2007
Students at the University of Missouri-Rolla are already preparing for the 2007 Solar Decathlon in Washington, D.C., and are busy building the beginnings of a solar village right here in town.
The UMR Solar House Team has designed and built houses for previous Solar Decathlon events, which are usually held every other year at the National Mall in Washington, D.C., to raise awareness about solar energy. The 2007 competition will mark the third year for the event, with UMR having participated in the first two. UMR’s team placed ninth out of 14 in the first competition and seventh out of 18 in the second. The team’s goal is to place in the top five at next year’s competition. Read More…
